Whitefish Theatre Co. is enjoying its 33rd year as a non-profit, community-based performing arts organization. This season's theatre, music series, special events, and children's acting classes remind us that "Performing Arts are in our Nature!"
Since its creation in 1978, Whitefish Theatre Co. (WTC) strives to fulfill its mission to "nurture the creative and artistic passions of our community by bringing the arts to life." Now in its 33rd year as a non-profit, community-based performing arts organization, WTC celebrates the arts by presenting 54 community theatre performances, 7 concerts, and 9 community outreach performances during its 2011-12 season from September through June. 2400 Flathead Valley school children and 400 seniors will attend the cost free community outreach events in 2011-12.
Education is also a large component of WTC: After-school theatre, voice, and musical theatre classes are held for children, tweens, and teens (grades 3rd-10th) in quarter-based classes Sept.-May, with an end-of-year Education Performance Showcase. WTC also features an audition-based performance troupe for young actors that are growing in their skills: The Young Actors Performance Troupe (for grades 6th-10th) performs a Halloween show as well as a spring show. All information about class days/times, as well as audition dates for the performance troupe can be found online at www.whitefishtheatreco.org or by calling WTC at 406-862-5371. WTC also offers summer theatre camps for grades 1st-12th in improv, theatre, choreography, and musical theatre.
Season tickets for Theatre Series and Music Series are on sale now. Individual tickets will be on sale August 18 for the entire season, space provided.
