A fun and interesting museum covering the history of Whitefish, located appropriately in the historical Whitefish Train Depot.
Open Monday through Saturday 10am to 4 pm
If you want to learn more about the history of Whitefish, and discover some of its surprises, you will enjoy spending time exploring this local museum loaded with a collection of over 5,000 old photographs and other artifacts large and small that tell the story of Whitefish. Learn about the early days of trapping, and the transitions from a logging town to a railroad town to a mountain resort community.
Engaging local volunteers staff the museum and are full of information and stories providing additional context and background for the display items available in the museum. A walking tour map is available as well as books about the area's history.
